What is Electronic Visit Verification?
Electronic Visit Verification or EVV is a technology used to confirm that a service actually occurred.
It is how Direct Care Professionals (workers) record the day, time, place and service they provided for participants. They are required to check-in when they begin and clock-out when they are done. Both participants and direct care professionals need to use EVV in order for it to work correctly. There are a variety of different apps that can be used.
Why Use EVV?
The 21st Century Cures Act mandated that states implement EVV for all Medicaid personal care services and home health services that require an in-home visit by a Direct Care Professional. Each state has different requirements; please talk with your Support Coordinator to understand what is required where you live.
